Understanding of how the brain works has advanced rapidly in recent years. The Dyslexia Wales and West methods were developed from these discoveries in cognitive and neurological research. Neural pathways, which are responsible for carrying information in the brain, can be developed just as pathways along a valley can be developed into a track, a byway and even a road. The auditory, motor and visual systems of the brain must function in co-ordination for effective learning to take place. The aim of the Dyslexia Wales and West multisensory methods is to help each client to build the most appropriate neural pathways. The resulting stronger pathways will enable learning free of the difficulties previously experienced.
